This hotel was okay but it certainly isn't worth the price or the 5 star class. Pros: It is a new, beautifully decorated hotel, and the staff that we dealt with were very friendly. The views were nice and we found the proximity to the beach and the sunset trail great. Cons: breakfast was very busy and the food was just okay. There was a large selection but it felt like mostly reheated frozen pastries and it was very chaotic. The "spa" is very small and half of it was out of service (e.g. the Turkish bath) for the entirety of our stay. The main downfalls of this hotel for us were the room and the cleanliness. The shower leaked all over the bathroom, there were no shelves in the shower, and we found that there wasn't room for our luggage. The bed was probably the least comfortable bed we have ever slept in and the towels and the linens felt very cheap. We also found that the cleanliness around the hotel wasn't up to par (our shower had hair in it upon check-in, and there was bandaids and garbage left all around the pool. The pools by the way are unheated, which meant that they weren't usable during our stay (September). The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from restaurants and town, which we enjoyed but may not be ideal for some travellers. Ultimately we liked our stay but we don't feel it was worth the price, and were disappointed in the room and certain things being misadvertised online. Definitely room for improvement but not the worst.

We had the most amazing time at this hotel! Everything was just perfect: the service, the atmosphere, the little details, our room with a great view, and of course the location, right next to all the best spots in Lagos. The dining experience was absolutely unforgettable: everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and just next-level good. We enjoyed every single meal! Our waiters were very professional and gave us a feeling that we are special guests :) The staff were overall so kind and attentive, they really went above and beyond and responded to every request so quickly. It made us feel truly taken care of. Thank you very much! We left completely happy and recharged. If you’re heading to Lagos, I can definitely recommend The Editory hotel.

Pros: Clean, great location, good breakfast Cons: AC constantly resets itself. Room is often 27-28 degrees if out all day or not waking up in the middle of the night to turn it back on. This caused us to not sleep well and not be comfortable in the room. An energy/money saving feature not thought through. Also paying for a premium room with the description stating stunning views from a high floor, instead we were given a room on the 3rd floor overlooking a construction zone.
