Rosa dos Ventos

A pearl centrally located in Zambujeira do Mar, just off the beautifully dramatic coast of Southern Alentejo. The accommodation is laid out around a lovely small patio in the centre, providing for a calm oasis after a long hike or swim. Rooms are small and functional, mostly with street view which is perhaps the only — minor and probably necessary — flaw. Staff is almost overwhelmingly friendly, and a breakfast you get a selection delicious local pastries!

Best stay so far during our six days in Portugal now. Rooms had everything needed for one night: cleanliness, kettle, cups and AC. There was a place available to hang our washed clothes and the courtyard was inviting to grab a book and get some rest below one of the umbrellas. Or to just watch the three turtles swimming in their pool. The receptionist was very friendly and warm-hearted. She joked around with us and facilitated the stay. The breakfast was just amazing, being available from 8 am. It had everything: fresh fruits like strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, banana, grapes and blueberries. Further, they had yogurt, muesli, bread, cheese and cold cut, scrambled and boiled eggs, different cakes and sweet pastry, coffee, juice, bacon and small sausages. Absolute recommendation!

The residence was welcoming, with a quick check-in. The room was small but comfortable, although not soundproofed. Breakfast was disappointing — not typical and below expectations. The location was good. Zambujeira is a small town that can easily be explored on foot in just a few minutes.
