Residence ATC Routes du Monde Argentiere-Chamonix

We were disappointed when we arrived at this hotel. First of all, the photos don't do it justice. The hotel is very old and needs a complete renovation. The wallpaper is falling apart, and even our daughter said it was terrible.We didn't even stay there for one night. This place should be called a very low-end hostel, not a three-star hotel. There was no refund option, which is unfair because the way it's presented on Booking.com is a scam.

I visited this place in July 2022, and it almost felt as if I was the only guest. The rooms were ok but a bit "shabby" and dirty, however, not to the extent that it bothered me too much (and I'm a pretty sensitive person wrt cleanliness). The breakfast was a bit odd, sometimes it was a small buffet, sometimes you were given a basket of bread, croissants and marmelade. Still, the location was great, just a few steps from the railway station to Chamonix, and several trails passing by the hotel. You also got this free train and buss pass making transport between Argentiere and the other nearby cities free of charge. Compared to the price of many other hotels and hostels in the region, this was - in my opinion - a good deal.

I was surprised when I got here. This was the cheapest option I could find in Chamonix, and din't expect an actual clean decent sized room. The staff speaks English and is really friendly. The view you have if either the Mont blanc or some trees with a mountain in the back of it. Which I got "see picture". This location is located next to a train station and really close by a bus station. When you get a room here you also get a card to access both train and bus untill the end of your stay. Plenty of food places and three supermarkets in the area.
