Excellent refuge high in the mountains. The guardians were very friendly and helpful. It was different to other refuges in that food is not provided. However we were able to cook for ourselves on the stove and there was lots of cooking equipment. The warm stove created a nice cosy environment.

By far, hands down, our favorite refuge we stayed at on our trek. The guardians truly embodied their title -- their family has been taking care of the cabin for decades and the love they have for this magical little cabin and gorgeous spot is palpable. They were wonderful hosts and extended true generosity to us in the traditional spirit of these huts (before they got saturated and commercialized). We will never forget our wonderful stay! The memory will live fondly in our hearts forever. Thank you for taking such good care of such a wonderful place.

10- July 2024 The first 1 km was the ONLY place with snow. All doable w out mini crampons. I used out of extreme precaution and if slipped it would not have been a problem. But I flew across. My partners got it done 1 min slower. The refuge is...wonderful. I can go on, but it is something everyone should do if you are hiking in the alps.
