Refuge de Miage

Peaceful, accomodating, and a great last night stay to end our TDMB. The dinner and breakfast were nutritious, and accommodated the picky eaters in my family that have dietary ‘requirements’. The general atmosphere at the refuge was peaceful and calm, really allowing us to appreciate and soak in the sublime views all round. Would return.

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Les Contamines. Important: Cash only! The view is absolutely stunning, and the food was delicious. Service was decent, though a word of advice—don’t refill your hiker’s water bottle with the table water they serve, not allowed))) There’s only one washroom, so expect a possible wait. The blueberry pie, unfortunately, looked better than it tasted.

Stayed here first night on our tour du mont blanc. Arrived early and sat inside a wood fire heated glass gazebo while we dried our wet clothes. Ordered some hot chocolate and coke to warm up. The rooms were shared and our room had enough sleeping space for 10 although only 3 beds got used. Beds were comfy and even though the room started cold, we stayed warm. Dinner was a salad, soup and potato omelet with blueberry pie (the pie was dry crumbly crust with frozen blueberries and very average). Everything but the pie hit the spot. Breakfast was simple and plain. Views were beautiful right along a river with multiple waterfalls seen across the meadow. Would stay here again. Luke warm showers were appreciated.
