Praia do Canal Nature Retreat

To be honest, interiors & rooms are nice. However, the road leading to the hotel (from both directions) is TRULY HORRIBLE, with the side coming from Arrifana being especially bad. I would strongly recommend being extremely careful with your car, as we actually damaged ours on the way there. The hotel owners should seriously consider doing something about getting this road repaired, because it’s quite unreasonable for guests to access a five-star hotel via a road in that condition.

We had the best stay at Praia do Canal, it was such a welcoming venue by the staff and by the venue itself, it really holds you. We stayed a weekend during winter and still we enjoyed beautiful sunny mornings, overlooking the ocean and in such a calm surrounding. The service, food and rooms are excellent, we couldn't recommend it more, it's a perfect getaway spot!

Fabulous hotel. Very remote, if you’re looking for a break from the fast life. Wonderful to be surrounded by nature. Friendly and attentive staff. Hike to beach is lovely. Pool has a beautiful view. Enjoyed the gym, new equipment. The spas public facilities could use some updating. We noticed the paint peeling a bit and some broken lockers. The spa treatments were lovely, though! Since the hotel is remote, it was great to have good restaurant options on site. We really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner. Lunch options were just OK. We hope to be back soon!
