Maya Joie, L'auberge

Private rooms for two are spacious but very dirty. Don't count on getting 2 twin beds. Bathroom in the barn-like building is clean and only used by the three rooms in there so that's probably the better room choice. Dinner is raclette and no alternatives. But there is a restaurant and grocery store in town so you do not need to eat here if this is not suited to your diet/taste. Breakfast was quite good with eggs and fresh bread and yogurt with many spreads and options.

Stunning auberge along the TMB route. The rooms were incredible spacious. The most spacious out of all the places I stayed at during the hike. Big windows, no foul smell, big plus. Incredible views of the glacier and surrounding mountains. We had raclette for dinner with half-board and breakfast was delicious. Definitely a great spot to stay! Highly recommended!

We stayed in Maya Joie for one night while doing the TMB. The place was great! The rooms were clean and cosy. The dinner was an all you can eat raclette buffet, with potatoes, pickles and salami, and was very good. Breakfast was also good, with different types of jams and breads, and cereal, milk, juice, etc. The showers had unlimited hot water, with strong water pressure. I also left behind my shorts accidentally, and couldn't go back to collect it. The Maya Joie team were very kind to help me mail the shorts back to me at no additional cost except postage.
