Hotel Mar e Sol VNMF by Portugalferias

It was fate that I passed this hotel. It was crazy windy & then raining & my phone died just as I got onto the high street after a long day on the fisherman’s trail. I walked in & Tito was on reception. I inquired about a room for the night & he said yes, €20! I was shocked as so affordable & admittedly a little suspicious. Tito reassured me & showed me the room & I was happy enough to stay 2 nights. Yes it’s a little tired. But it’s clean, your own space & bathroom & I’d stay again no problem. Additional note: I had to pay €50 deposit which I thought unusual. This was refunded soon after check out. Many thanks to the team at the hotel for a pleasant stay! A+

I chose this place because the pictures showed a cozy, traditional place to stay. When we got to the area, I discovered the location was awful. It just did not feel save. The hotel had check in available up until 19h. We called to say we where arriving at 20h, but when we got there we had to call to say we were waiting for them to open. Half an hour later, we were still waiting. So we decided to cancel… and thank God now that I am reading some of the reviews.
