Hôtel Alpina

Marlene is so nice and a great host. Our luggage was delivered to the wrong place and she drove to pick it up for us. -this is a must stay for the food! Although this was one of our more expensive stays, the food is insanely good. The best meal of the tour. It says they had Michelin in 2018 and honestly they should still have it now. Crazy delicious. Lovely stay.

Our stay at Hotel Alpina was absolutely incredible. As a family-run establishment, you can feel the warmth and care in every detail. Marlene welcomed us in the garden after a long day of trekking and looked after us with genuine kindness and compassion throughout our stay. The food was by far the best we had on the TMB—I would return to Hotel Alpina for the dining experience alone. The hotel is charming and quaint, with a lovely sitting area that overlooks the valley. Even on a cloudy day, the views were stunning. I would absolutely return

The hosts were my favorite, but there is a lot to love about this stay. 1) a multi-generational establishment with service, food and care that surpassed most. 2) a very impressive dinner (and equally impressive breakfast, which can be hard to find) 3) the service, care and kindness. It's an easy walk to the lake and we'd definitely make this stay a part of our TMB again.
