Hotel Del Viale

If you're looking into a place where you can live comfortably but not expensively, this absolutely hit the mark. Very friendly staff. Not wheelchair friendly, and it's a bit of a hike if you're loving on the 3rd floor. Absolutely happy with the stay!

They were very accomodating to us vegans. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Reasonable breakfast times. Great location. Great place.

It is the staff that make this place, they were all excellent, friendly and helpful (however, the owner comes across as grumpy!). The breakfast and dinner were also very good, plenty of buffet selection for breakfast and four courses for dinner plus salad - all tasty with a selection of two for the mains. Tap water served with meal if required, otherwise, as you would expect, alcoholic drinks are quite expensive. Rustic décor with interesting objects. Our room was basic and on second floor, not ideal when it was a skiing holiday and there is no lift. Plenty of hot water and we had a bath. Rooms cleaned daily, but also the towels replaced daily which was unnecessary. No ski and boot room, just as small old fashioned ski stand in a corridor (no drying room). Rooms were warm/hot so ski boots dried there nicely. Beds were old and very creaky. No cleaning under the beds. Wi-fi was good. The hotel runs a mini-bus to the Dolonne lift in the morning and pick-ups in the evening. However, if the hotel is busy there could be problems as the mini-bus only takes 8 passengers. It is possible to pre-arrange pick-up at bus station if you go to ski in La Thuile. The Skyline is accessible by the public free circulatory bus, a short walk from the hotel (bus stop 7, turn right when leaving the hotel). The hotel is too far from the ski lifts to walk in ski boots. The town centre, not much charm, is an easy walk away out of ski boots.
