Butlin's Minehead Caravans

We stayed in a "comfort apartment" which looks in the brochure like a premier inn style room. However it was far from. The stale smell of cigarettes was very strong, stained sofa, heaters barely clinging on to walls. No soundproofing between rooms. All inclusive food was decent at both breakfast and dinner, no queues and the greeter in there very friendly. All inclusive drinks had plenty of options too and never particularly busy at the bar. Most of the outside areas around the main pavilion we well looked after, but the bulk of the accomodation area looks tired, rusty and faded. Kids love the amusements. The entertainment inside the venues was really good. Coming fresh out of the winter period where you'd expect annual works to be done, I was surprised by how dark and dusty the big tent was inside when you look around. Heavy dust piles and chopped off cables dangling. Overall we had a good time but I feel like the accomodation advertising was is leading and management needs to do a site walk and make the place look cared for, otherwise they will ultimately suffer the same withering fate as pontins.

Stayed here during term time for only £80 for 5 days, one adult and a 1 year old. Food court was decent, nice selection of food and drinks. The facilities were clean and couldn't fault it. The room was a little bit run down but was clean, bedding and towels were fresh. For the price theres nothing I can fault with regards to the room. Bed was also comfortable.The Ukrainian lady who was cleaning my room upon arrival was extremely kind and helpful, wish I had got her name, went above and beyond! The staff working around Butlins were extremely friendly and nice. Would highly recommend!

Butlins as a whole, a wonderful experiences for kids, and very over stimulating one for adults. Lots to do and also a large arcade which tends to take most of your time and money if not watching shows, swimming or in the bar. The pool is amazing but never enough staff to have everything open which is disappointing considering the price and how much butlins earn each year. And the staff bless them were so stressed and apologetic and have said its a common thing. And managers higher up dont listen. The park itself was clean and kept to a high standard. The majority of staff are friendly and helpful (cleaning staff are mostly, lazy and rude and talking in their own language together when your trying to get support or advice from them rather than talking in English so we could understand what they are saying which is bery disrespectful) The restaurants have a large variety of options, prices are very reasonable and a good standard of food. Finding the park was easy, although, they should allow you (if at the back of the park) to drive your things to your room to drop off and collect, its a long way to walk and carry everything, I totally understand keeping the cars in the car parks though. ROOMS.....(Atlantic Bay comf9rt apartment) meant to be a nice apartment and paid extra... but wow!!! disgusting!!! I heard how bad butlins were for room Cleanliness but I was not expecting what we got.. Rude cleaners ( we were on time and they didnt like that as they were not ready) they talk together angrily in their own language, and the room was gross... either they have lazy workers or the managers do not give them enough time to clean each room to how they should be... * sick smell all round the lounge where people before us had been sick all over the lounge carpet, we know this because it stank- the carpets are filthy, they need a deep clean, sofas filthy with god knows what stains all over them, curtains filthy with stains up them, Doors filthy with i dont know what all over them. Bed sheets had blood on them.. 😵 Shower head gross and dirty, and the water power was minimal, better off hand washing. Not enough racks in the oven to cook for a family of 4, (1 rack, and not enough pans either) Iron burn and stains on carpet Bits of wood missing on the table in the lounge. Light switches dirty, A random kids hairband on the kitchen floor.. Fridge stank of bleach which meant our food was tainted with it. Overall disappointing and we wont be back. Its not worth the cost..
