We had dinner for two at the Browns restaurant. The food was nice, however the potato mash and rosti were overly salted and the portions were small given the price of the mains. One of the desserts had coconut cream that had gone off (it tasted sour/acidic and "fizzy"), and when I highlighted to the staff, they roughly apologised but never offered any sort of compensation. It was the third time I visited this restaurant and my previous experiences were good, but this time I was disappointed. Based on that, I would probably not go back.

This was a decent hotel. Our room was very large with large windows for natural light. Browns Restaurant was on site. Good location for finishing up a hike of the West Highland Way from Glasgow. Staff was mostly friendly except for one female server.

Sunday night low season. Restaurant was empty beside us. Starter - bbq pulled pork & chicken duck terrine, the terrine was literally the two meats layered not what you expected at all. Beef shin so much salt you cant taste anything else was not served on a bed of root veg mash, venison well done hardly any pink does not work with butter soaked leek bulgar wheat. Definitely below average in the area I would say.
