It's a good option, in the centre of Bolsena and with a beautiful rooftop with the view on the lake (the sunset is beautiful from there). The room was just fine, nothing special but in line with the standards. External bathroom next door. I would only say that it was a bit cold and the policy they have is heating on just when they believe it necessary.

Another guest unlocked and pushed open our locked bedroom door in the middle of the night. This is just unacceptable. I did not enjoy the check-in process which was rather unprofessional. I was expected to leave our passports for a long, unknown amount of time with three houseladies sitting around in their home, who only spoke Italian. I was uncomfortable with this, as passports are important documents, and they couldn't easily explain when I'd get them back or why they needed to do this. I can't recommend this for anyone who wants to feel safe in their room or anyone who doesn't speak Italian.

Scam! Bait-and-switch, extortion. With so many nice hotels in the area, why compromise for inadequacy and deceitful tactics? Read further: Completely incorrect and false booking. The owner was hostile with us when we pointed out the booking clearly lists 4 beds, of which we only required 3, yet he was only willing to provide 2 beds. He insisted that two of us could sleep on one bed and that regardless of what was guaranteed in the listing, he’d only provide two beds. The listing we’d booked clearly stated one full bed, two twins, and a sofa bed. Upon arrival, the owner argued that we needed to pay at least an additional €40 to get either the second twin bed or the sofa bed, as described in the listing. The owner claimed he wasn’t required to provide more than two beds, since we were three people who could fit on two beds. He even went as far as to say the listing wasn’t his responsibility. Completely unprofessional and intentionally deceitful. *Update*: extortion - Before leaving, the owner told me he would refund me since we were not agreeing to his bait-and-switch. I promptly left a review to my dissatisfaction with Pensione Italia. Afterwards I get a message that he won’t refund me unless I delete my review, which is extortion. I had to go through my booking site for a refund since he was not trustworthy.
