Domus San Martino

We found this hotel as a stop on our drive. We would stay here again for the value of a large clean room, comfortable bed and a great price. The room was verg big with a balcony, and the bathroom was huge. It is steps from the center of town and is very well kept. It does not have a breakfast and the hotel is really one floor of an apartment building. All of it was very safe and clean. A great choice.

Disappointing Experience – Poor Communication! We booked two rooms at this hotel and promptly received a confirmation email. However, upon arrival, we found the hotel door locked. Despite ringing the bell and calling the phone number listed on the door multiple times, we received no response... After reaching out to Booking.com for assistance, we were advised that if the hotel did not respond within 30 minutes, we could cancel free of charge. After waiting for 45 minutes with no communication from the hotel, we had no choice but to find alternative accommodation. Even Booking.com was unable to reach them. Surprisingly, the hotel finally contacted us later that evening. Instead of offering a resolution, they canceled our booking and still charged us the full amount. Now, we are left dealing with Booking.com to get a refund. We were very disappointed by the lack of communication and reliability of the hotel owner.

This B&B was in a perfect location in Piacenza, a short walk away from the centro and close to so many businesses and places of interest. The host Enrico and Marta were all extremely helpful and accommodating from the start. They communicated expeditiously with us and gave us lots of information about what to do and where to go. They even helped us carry our bags to our room. The room was very clean, quiet, and had plenty of water, great coffee, and snacks. The bathroom had the standard toiletries and was spotless. The accommodation met all of our expectations. The cleaning staff was very nice, polite, and very caring. They all wanted us to feel at home. We were on a cycling tour with folding bikes and Enrico offered incredibly helpful information about how to navigate the country with our bikes. We had a last minute (unrelated) technical problem with our bikes prior to leaving and Enrico went above and beyond and called the nearest bike shop asking them to help us because we were about to depart. This level of assistance was crucial and we will never forget his generosity. We highly recommend this B&B. Enrico and his crew were truly exceptional. I don’t know why anyone would give this place anything less than 5 stars. They’re such honest, proud, and hard working people. Enrico, è stato un piacere immenso conoscerti! Grazie mille per tutto!!
