Gite d'Etape Sainte Engrace Burguburu

I felt in heaven, after a very long hike definitely a place to stay, beautiful area and a warm and welcoming host. It's a very honest and charming place. I highly recommend to taste the dinner, it's worth it, made with love and passion.

We arrived just after new years and the town seemed empty. We quickly got to know the entire family and were super lucky that they also own a bar next door so we could enjoy some good basque wine and beer (as take a way because of covid restrictions) They also showed us their animals which was a big highlight for our kids! Apartment is basic but ok. The one star missing in my rating is simply because of the price (120€ a night). They were obviously not booked at all for new year’s and charged us the highest rate of the year (we were walk-ins).

Ok for a night after the hike, breakfast 6€ a bit expensive for coffee and few pieces of bread and jam, the lady is nice but the grandma is quite rude and asked me about 10 times if I have paid my night and food 😒
