House for rent for a group of 4 hiking the Via Transilvanica. Big, comfortable, but very simple. For an extra payment, it is possible to arrange dinner and breakfast at the home of the owner of the house.

Had the whole place to ourselves. Very roomy. Wonderful to stay in the village. It should advertise itself as a dark skies area - had clear skies and millions of stars. Great food courtesy of Lucica and her sister, at number 93. Speaking German helps with communication, but there is always Google Translate. Note - no wi-fi at the property. We did the walk to Cris and Floresti - 25k round trip, but not too effortful. Well worth it. Old lady in village warned us of danger of bears, but others didn’t warn us so we went anyway. Didn’t see any, and we survived! Also walked to the village to the west (Nou Sasenc?!) - about 14km round trip. Again, lovely views, especially the valley in between - beautiful cornfields and grazing land. There is a decent shop in the village.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mălâncrav 335 farmhouse in the idyllic village of Mălâncrav, and oh what a delightful experience it was! This very basic farmhouse, tucked away in the peaceful countryside, is just the place to be if you're looking for some peace, quiet and a hefty dose of Romanian charm. First of all, the house itself is so charming and full of history. Cuta, our hostess, and her sister were a real gem! 🌟 They welcomed us and made us feel right at home with their homemade cooking and natural products. It was like having a home away from home, a truly welcoming experience unlike any other. It was a beautiful representation of the local cuisine, rich, flavorful and prepared with so much love and care. It was a culinary journey through Romania and every bite was a revelation! We truly believe that places like this are rare gems, and the work of the non-profit organization behind it is commendable, promoting sustainability while preserving cultural heritage and an authentic way of life. If you're looking to disconnect and experience the rich, authentic vibe of Transylvania, we can't recommend this guesthouse in Mălâncrav enough!
