Woolacombe Bay Hotel

We stayed at the Woolacombe Bay Hotel for a girls’ weekend a while back. I took my mum and her friend, and overall we genuinely had a lovely time. The spa was relaxing, the atmosphere was warm, and it felt like a proper treat for the three of us. That said, accessibility was a challenge. Getting into the spa pool wasn’t easy at all for someone with limited mobility. There isn’t a straightforward assisted entry system, so getting in and out of the water was difficult. We managed, but it definitely wasn’t designed with disabled guests fully in mind. Our bedroom also didn’t have strong disabled facilities. There wasn’t a practical way for me to safely give my mum a proper bath or shower, which made things tricky. If you’re travelling with someone who needs proper accessible bathroom support, it’s something to double-check carefully before booking. Getting to breakfast in a wheelchair felt like a very long journey through the hotel. We got there, and the staff were pleasant, but it wasn’t especially convenient. Despite all of that, we did have a good time. The setting is beautiful, the spa experience itself was enjoyable, and it was special to spend that time together. I just think the hotel could improve its accessibility, particularly around pool access and bedroom facilities, to make stays more comfortable for disabled guests.

We stayed for the weekend. The room had a very nice view on the beach. Bed was confortable. The staff was very welcoming and gave us good recommandations on where to go. Spa/pool/gym facilities was very nice.
