Camping Municipal Saint Efflam

On a very bleak and rainy March afternoon, we were heading towards an Aire near the beach. No electric hook up or anything open to go and visit or get a drink in. Not a prospect we were looking forward to. Then out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a motorhome parked on what looked like a a campsite. A quick U turn and like an oasis shimmering in the distance, it was indeed a municipal campsite, and it was open, and it had hook up, and hot showers. Smiles came back to our faces. What a great find. The team were very friendly and spoke English, which does help us Franglish speaking folk. The site is literally a couple hundred yards from the beach. Although it was raining, we dug out the waterproofs and went for a walk.

Practical, flat pitches very close to beach. Food trucks in the evening and bakery van each morning. Great set up. Friendly atmosphere. Visited in high season.

Cheapest I've found so far for cycle tourists, €8 for 2 adults with a heated indoor pool to ease the aching muscles. Calm, close to beach and the eurovelo 4 passes by the front gate.
