The hospitaleros are so nice. This pristine albergue, with a homely feel and classy decor, is a friendly, peaceful space for pilgrims on el Camino del Norte to stop and rest (just off the route near Muros de Nalón). In the struggle to find accommodation on this route, this is an affordable oasis in a quiet pueblo situated by the water. When I stayed I was the only female and had the whole female dorm to myself (5 beds) for two nights as I decided to spend a rest day here. I had a wonderful stay and took advantage of the vegetarian dinner option here (such a rare treat in Spain) which included a delicious vegetable soup, spinach patty with ratatouille and rice and a creamy honey and walnut dessert. I wholeheartedly recommend this albergue. It’s a special, warm and welcoming place run by lovely humans.

This place was sweet and wonderful. The host was a lovely, kind woman who met us outside to guide us to the entrance. Its a beautiful, homey, and clean space. I'd highly recommend staying. She was very helpful and obliging with finding a spot for our bikes as well. We were so tired and got in really late from our cycle, and felt like we hit the jackpot when we found this quiet gem to stay - it was perfect. We also got to go down a reallly long fun hill to get there (warning you have to go back up it to leave lol)

Strict & unfriendly owner.. We had two beds in a five bed room. Shortly after we arrived there was another person coming. It was obvious that she was sick and coughing all the time. As we are pilgrims and have planned our trip for one week in advance, we didnt want to get sick over night and asked the sick person if its okay for her if we went to another room so that she can have her own room. Of course she agreed. In addition we wouldnt have been able to sleep with her coughing. There was another room where 4 out of 6 beds were free. Therefore I asked the owner if it was okay to change to the other room. She didn't let me finish my sentence and just denied in a quiet unfriendly way. At that point we already knew that we wont have a good sleep. This wasn't necessary. Futhermore we ate an apple and a banana in our room. When she saw that she came in and yelled at us. We respect that this is a rule but the way of yelling at us was again not necessary and not professional. This accommondation is not suitable if you want to relax after a long day. But at least it looks pretty ;)
