Ardlui Retreat - Loch Lomond Villa & Hot Tub Lodges

We have arrived home today after staying at Ardlui Retreat for the past 3 nights and my kids have talked none stop about how brilliant it was and asking when we can go back! Our family had visited Ardlui back in the spring and stayed in a lodge for a friends 50th and loved it then and where keen to come back with the rest of the family so booked the house for a wee family break in the autumn. We stayed in the stunning house and had other family members join us, 5 adults and 4 young children in total stayed and it has been one of best holidays we have been on. The house is huge with everything you could possibly think of to make the stay comfortable. Stylishly designed and calming. Our 9 year old and my 67 year old mother in particular liked the hot chocolate machine and this was a fun novelty that they are going to miss. We spent pretty much all day in the pool from the moment the cover came off and my kids loved it so much they would be back in at every opportunity until bed time. The views are breath taking and the house is beautifully designed and clean. The staff on site are so welcoming and friendly, Zac welcomed us on Thursday evening and was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Then I think it was Josh and Garry who also where there on the days after and they where equally as friendly and accommodating. The house felt like a dream home for the 3 days, it was quiet and calming and we all loved it so much we are keen to make it a yearly visit. Thanks so much Ardlui team for having us. Xxx

The lodge was clean and luxurious, and the hot tub was incredible. However, the view varies between lodges even though the price is the same — we ended up with no lake view, which should be clearly mentioned during booking. They also charged me £25 from the deposit for checkout even though we left the lodge before 10 a.m. and were out of the gate by 10:20, just arranging things in the car while my husband was on a call. I found that charge unreasonable. Not happy with this experience and wouldn’t book again.

We had a truly memorable stay at Ardlui Retreat—it was above our expectations in every way. From the start, the hospitality was exceptional. Manager Garry was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful, even checking in on us when we were delayed due to a road closure at Tarbet. He also made sure the BBQ hut was all prepared and ready for us on our second night, which made for such a cosy and enjoyable evening. A special shoutout to David, who went out of his way to deliver our packed lunch to Captain Barry during our private Loch Lomond cruise on his stunning Azimut 430. That level of care and personal attention made our experience even more special. The lodges are beautifully designed—high-spec, spacious, and truly felt like a home away from home. After a long hike, relaxing in the private hot tub in the evening was the perfect way to unwind. A fantastic place for a family vacation, with everything thoughtfully prepared for comfort, relaxation, and adventure. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend Ardlui Retreat to anyone looking for a luxurious and welcoming Scottish getaway
