The George Inn

A pleasant surprise from a Pub. We dread eating out while we are away. You may all might be wondering what is this person talking about. I'll explain! Firstly what is standard pub fayre. My idea of pub food is frozen peas, chips and this would constitute vegetables. Not the case at the George we decided to go with specials board. I chose the chicken breast and medley of vegetables of roasted parsnips, brussels sprouts, carrots. Creamed leeks and swede and seasonal red cabbage with hint seasoning finished with a sauceboat of gravy. I think the smiles on our faces may have given it away. "Happy! Would be an understatement it made our one night stay rememberable. So a very special thank you the lady who cooked for us and the lady from the midlands who served us. And finally not forgetting the young chap who cooked us breakfast. Thank you one all, you are what english pub food should be like every day. PS to pub owner be kind and treasure these valued members of staff. Because remember other establishments are always keen to poach valued staff. Thank you

Had a wonderful 4 days in The George Inn, Braunton. The owner and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The George and rooms are clean very nice and dog friendly. The car park is just across the road with barrier access and exit.

Nice pub, very friendly. Serves food but we didn't indulge as it as just a quick stop. Bus stop right outside.
