We've been coming here around Carnival time for several years now and have declared this our favorite place to stay. Pragmatic, functional, no frills, and reasonably priced. The surroundings, the charming rooms, the cows, the horses, the barn, the dog, the cats (and the occasional kitten) in the hay, the freshly milked milk (or at least freshly milked milk), and the bread rolls and eggs delivered to the door every morning leave little to be desired. If there's snow, it's practically perfect, as a small ski slope and cross-country trail are within easy reach, as are the hiking trails. The surroundings, the rustic rooms, the cows, the horses, the barn, the dog, the cats (and occasionally kites) in the hay, the fresh milk, the bread rolls and eggs delivered to the door every morning—it leaves little to be desired. Our most memorable highlight, however, is "old" Faller, a dairy farmer of the old school, a truly authentic witness to history. After a brief warm-up, he recounts his origins in wartime, snowplowing with horses, and a truly harsh time when winters in the Black Forest, with their deep snows, became life-threatening. He also shares his decidedly critical view of today's modern world, leaving one with a profound sense of humility. We will definitely be back...

I've been here since I was a child and had many wonderful moments. This was my first time there with my own family, and it's still fantastic. The apartment was a bit older, but very clean and well-equipped. The children were allowed to help out in the stables and enjoyed the many animals. Fresh rolls and eggs and milk are available on-site in the morning. The location is great not only because of the fantastic view, but also because of the many hiking trails that start right outside. We'll definitely be back!

Wow, clean, well-equipped kitchen. You can even bring a dog. You can borrow a vacuum cleaner. And all for a very fair price. Super nice hostess. We were allowed to see the cows and horses, pet the cat and dog, and order fresh eggs, milk, and bread rolls, which were placed in a basket by the door in the morning. Wonderfully cool balcony, great view! Personally, I only missed having a curtain; I need (complete) darkness to sleep. We stayed in the living room, which only had one small window without a curtain. I'm sure very few people will mind that. I enjoyed it, and we'll definitely come back.
