Bank House

I can only speak to the warm welcome our tour group received for lunch. A prearranged luncheon was prepared for us and we were greeted warmly on a rather chilly, "soft day". The owners brought us into the sitting room and explained how the original Bankhouse, was gutted by fire. They described, with deserved pride, how they rebuilt the inn that we now occupied. They shared the story of their long, family friendship with the actress, Maureen O'Hara. The rooms were wonderfully appointed in light fabrics and gold leaf that was warmed by muted, crystal lighting. Lunch was light, tasty and served with deliciously strong tea which was perfect for the dreary weather. If ever the opportunity arises again, I shall make a point of seeking out this traveler's gem once more.

We had an arranged lunch through our tour guide. The sandwiches were good, and scone and tea delightful. The couple who owns the B&B were welcoming, amazing hosts.
