Château Mont-Dol

Everything about this accomodation was superb. We arrived on a Sunday, stayed in the chateau and were greeted by the proprietor Yannick who made us a lovely pot of tea served in lovely tea cups in the exquisite drawing room. A delicious breakfast was served in a seperate building on the property a short walk through the lovely garden to arrive there with very friendly and accommodating staff. We opted for the evening three course set menu on the Tuesday night local seafood sourced and prepared by Yannick with accompanying vegetables from the garden and local wines. We had trouble sourcing a taxi to get back to Dol de Bretagne when leaving early morning and Yannick came to our rescue once again to organise a taxi for our group of five. The buildings, gardens and staff were all outstanding. Thank you to Yannick and staff it has been a highlight of our journey within France.

A wonderful place for a romantic dinner or a weekend. Charming rooms and a romantic environment, very good dinner for a low price and friendly and charming service. And if you wish to stay longer, take one of the three wonderful apartments. It is always a pleasure for us to stay here and we never have been let down since more of 10 years.

Classic typical French synthesis of ancient, rough and heavy building materials and subtle kitch. The hotelier cooks beautiful diner, using herbs and vegatables from the castle garden. Due to limited capacity, one has to reserve a table in time. Breakfasts at Château de Mont Dol are stylish, furnished with very tasty cheese home-made apple crumble and jams, served in the château's salon by a very kind and attentive young lady. The b&b rooms are comfortable and well taken care for.
