Marvelous, nature, forest, calm....

We (Manne, Frank, Rosa, and Hartmut) spent a few days at the Oybin Nature Park Hotel over New Year's for a DX contest. The DX contest was held to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the Nauen radio station, which can be operated on all amateur radio bands from January 1st to December 31st, 2026. Our radio equipment was quite extensive and had to be transported to and from the vehicle every morning and evening, which was quite a hassle. The hotel staff were very helpful and always readily available whenever we needed assistance. Since we couldn't arrange our own meals, we received a packed lunch each day. The food was excellent, the staff was very attentive, and the rooms were clean and comfortably heated. We will definitely be back for Easter and again in the summer. We highly recommend the Naturparkhotel Oybin to all DXers and DARC members. It's centrally located, offering excellent access to the Oybin Mountains, the Hain, and the Lausche. Furthermore, the prices are incredibly affordable compared to other hotels and guesthouses in the region. Many thanks to the entire hotel team!
