Hôtel Maison des Armateurs

A good quality 3* hotel but not a 4* in my opinion. Excellent location in the centre of the town with friendly, helpful staff. However, attention to detail that I would expect from a 4* is missing. The shower is a handheld above a bath, rather than a separate shower unit. The wardrobe opened onto the bed so you could only half open it. The towel rail was above the toilet, so you have the choice of either dry towels or using the loo. Breakfast was average - the hot food was barely warm, and tables that had been used remained with used crockery for the whole time we had breakfast and were not cleaned / relaid. There are also no extra facilities in the hotel which would separate it from a 3* such as restaurant, gym, children's area, etc. You are just paying for a room and convenience of location. Would I stay here again? For the price we paid, unfortunately not.

Fine and simple hotel, tastefully decorated. The room has double doors, so very quiet. The bed was comfortable and the front desk staff, pleasant. Building is in good condition. The hotel is a very short walk from Parking P7.

Excellent hotel for a one night stay inside the walls in Saint Malo. Rooms were spacious and charming. The hotel had a functioning elevator and air conditioning worked perfectly. We only stayed here one night due to a last minute ferry schedule change, but wish we could have stayed longer. Would highly recommend as a first choice for anyone staying inside the walls in Saint Malo.
