HOTEL GASTRONÓMICO TORRE DE GALIZANO

There is a lot for the owner and staff to learn about customer service and the guest experience. Shop around, there are better places to stay. We were not impressed at all, considering the price (we paid for the stay and the New Year's dinner). First of all, the pictures are quite misleading. The hotel is in a fairly urban area and the rooms are overlooked by the neighbouring properties, I would recommend anyone to check the street view. When we arrived, the service was very basic and a little dry. The hotel lacks the amenities you would normally expect, such as a safe, iron and ironing board. When we wanted to freshen up our clothes before dinner, the only iron they could offer (and only on the condition that we return within 10 minutes) was the steam iron for the tablecloths. We bought the Dinner Set Menu which did not include wine. We ordered a red wine with the meat course but the lamb was completely raw and the whole dish was ruined. I sent it back immediately. Not once did I hear "sorry", not once did they offer to compensate me by not charging me for the wine, for example. For breakfast there was some yoghurt with fruit and some toast and pastries, but only when we filled up on that did the owner start offering hot dishes like scrambled eggs etc... they deliberately want you to have the cheaper options first then start offering the more expensive ones.

The refrigerator in the room didn't work. Whose idea was it to put a toilet in front of the bed with a glass door and huge gaps?! I was with a friend and I felt really awkward going to the toilet. There is also a bar restaurant across the street from the window and it is very noisy there. Otherwise, everything seems to be fine.

Loved this place. What a delightful surprise after a long day walking the Camino de Santiago!
