Royal Hotel

The welcome was very friendly and informative, which set a great tone for the stay. The hotel has two restaurants on-site, and both served very good food - a nice option to have without needing to go far. My room had a lovely view, the bed was very comfortable, and everything felt clean and well-kept. There are a couple of drawbacks worth noting: if you’re staying on the second or third floor, be prepared for stairs as there are no lifts. The bathroom was also a bit dated and on the smaller side, with separate hot and cold taps rather than a combined faucet. Overall, though, it’s a pleasant stay with warm hospitality, good food, and comfortable rooms - a solid choice if you’re visiting Stornoway.

The hotel itself was nice . TV small . Lovely to surprise guests with Scottish tablet sweetie in the room . It was a nice room with sea view from where we watched seals in the water + a heron. The food at the HS1 restaurant was very good and the restaurant staff too.

My friend and I booked a twin room for 2 nights while we explored Lewis and Harris. What a lovely hotel!! Great location and close to the ferry port. These beds were the softest, most comfortable beds we've had so far on our vacation. Staff is 24 hours and so friendly and helpful. Dinner was great at the hotel restaurant and breakfast was delicious as well. The second day there, we decided to try the other restaurant next to/attached to the hotel, and the food there was great as well. I highly recommend the Sticky Toffee Popcorn Sundae...amazing. the only drawback I can speak of is that people who have mobility issues, there is no lift, so you'll have to climb stairs. Other than that, this place is perfect. Kudos to the staff for making people feel so welcome!!
