Bayview Bed and Breakfast Elgol

We met with inclement weather during our visit and all the restaurants in the vicinity were closed by the time we arrived. Jonathan was concerned about our safety if we were to drive to the next nearest town for food. He advised us to stay sheltered and very kindly offered supplies for us to make our own dinner. We are touched by the warm hospitality in an otherwise wet and windy night that even knocked the power out (along with many trees and zinc roofs in the Isle). There were brief moments to enjoy the spectacular view outside too.

Easily the best place we stayed in our whole 10 day trip to Scotland. Jonathan was a gregarious, knowledgeable, and gracious host who made us feel right at home. His place is the perfect base of operations for plenty of hikes and dramatic views. The room was comfy and quiet, the shower hot and stocked with soaps, and the breakfast was divine. We only wish we had stayed longer !

We stayed for two nights and had a lovely time! Jonathan was an amazing host - he gave us the warmest welcome upon our arrival. We got settled in nicely - our room was super comfortable and clean with a great view as well! And also a shower with great water pressure and hot water, which is always nice after a wet, chilly day exploring. The view from here is gorgeous and we enjoyed that there is a large window in the common area that looks out over the water and mountains. Breakfast each morning was hearty and delicious and started us out on a great note before venturing out to explore. Jonathan was so fun to chat with and we really enjoyed the time we spent getting to know him during our stay. We wish we could have stayed longer! Was definitely a highlight of our trip!
