Hir Kemmyns Bed and Breakfast

I almost didn’t want to write this, because we want to keep it our secret.. but everyone must know about Hir Kemmyns! Everything is just perfect, it’s the ultimate hidden gem in the area. The rooms are absolutely beautiful (and spotless). You have everything you need and more - Lucy thinks of everything. The views just don’t get any better and you can see them all lying in bed. Lucy is the most thoughtful, amazing host - you’ll have the most delicious breakfasts and cakes and you’ll never want to leave! It feels like a very special and private home from home, and you won’t find a better B&B!

This review is long overdue but alas finally writing it. We stayed at Hir Kemmyns in August of 2023 and it was the most fabulous bed and breakfast. The bed is an American king size which is so great and the garden/water view from lying in bed is amazing. We didn’t want to leave. Lucy is a divine chef and made the most unbelievable breakfasts and afternoon pastries every day. The coffee and flat whites she served us were better than any cafe. St. Mawes is an idyllic little place. Walking trails, great restaurants, beautiful neighborhood walks, stunning views at every turn, ferries to neighboring towns, a foot ferry to epic hiking trails, swimming in the bay…like I said, idyllic. We also got a flat tire while there and Lucy’s husband took care of the whole thing for us and even drove us 30 minutes to pick up our car once it was ready. Absolute legends. We look forward to returning one day in the future.

Our second visit to the beautiful Hir Kemmyns was as wonderful as our first visit in 2021. We stayed in Oystercatcher - superking comfortable bed, cosy sheets and duvet, massive pillows with views over the river. Lucy is the best hostess and made our stay to celebrate hubby’s birthday absolutely perfect. I highly recommend pizza night, eating home made pizza with the stunning view with a lovely glass of wine was a delight. We’ll be back next year to celebrate hubby’s next birthday 😍
