Stopped by for lunch while in area on Monday (yesterday) with wife and lad. It was cherry on cake for our day. Sunny day so inside was quiet but sat in charming beer garden out back, around 5 or 6 other tables with patrons too. Food was excellent, we all enjoyed what we ordered which isn’t common. I had special, chicken, cauliflower, cheese and mash pie - it was 10/10. Lovely cider on tap too. Reasonably priced and food efficient service. Highly recommend this place if looking for good pub food and it’s a sunny day to sit outside. Fuelled our trip back to Scotland later that afternoon!

I came in for a family dinner, it's a very cosy pub with lots of photos of local life and times of what I assume to be people associated with the pub, it looks like this place meant a lot to quite a few people. The highlight for me was the dinner, I had the potato and broccoli bake with garlic bread and a salad, it took me back to my aunties cooking when I went round her house every Sunday, so it's difficult to put into words how much I enjoyed the food. For dessert we had sticky toffee pudding and a homemade crumble, both served with hot custard, as it was a chilly day that was perfect to warm us up before we left. I will definitely be back again if I'm in the area!

The pub was very busy when we arrived but we found a table and ordered a lasagne and a vegan curry. The service was quick and efficient and the food delicious. Nothing to fault, thank you!
