Guesthouse Maizer

stopped for lunch (which was great) and decided to stay the night due to the weather. room is basic and bed uncomfortable, we also had a mouse most of the night in the room. breakfast wasn't so great. hosts friendly. large dining space. ok/standard price.

If there was a challenge of best hosts ever Maizer and his family would undoubtedly take leader position. Overwhelmingly hospitable, guest-oriented, helpful, caring people with whom you feel real vibe of Svaneti. Maizer is not only the host but a guide to local culture and history. You'll be shown 12th century old Svanetian dwelling "Machubi" full with ornaments, agricultural weaponry or other household items and a defensive tower in bonus (be watchful while climbing it). Rooms and bath are totally clean, food beyond yummy and location coziest with big yard. Not just recommended but a must-visit place.

Superb place to stay in mestia-ushguli trek. The family who own this house was so friendly, that we felt like at home. Dinner was absolutely amazing. I recommend to everybody.
