Albergue Merlín

A safe haven for when every albergue in Ferreira was fully booked. Grateful to have met Erundina, the owner and a saint of a person. She drove me and 2 others to the nearest town to buy dinner (important note: there is no food here), and drove us back with incredible tortillas we got in pallas del rei. Very clean and comfortable facilities.

A new, very clean and well-maintained albergue. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the equipment feels almost unused. The sleeping space is thoughtfully arranged so you feel comfortable and have your own area. The owner went above and beyond — she even came with her sons to help translate into English. There’s also the option to do laundry and drying. The only thing I missed was a dedicated place for shoes. I definitely recommend walking 2 km past Ferreira and staying at Albergue Merlin;)

Had a great stay here! We had the place to ourselves, the hosts are really nice, everything is new and very clean. Fully equipped kitchen, really comfortable blankets, heaters, and all for 15 euros. Would recommend getting food at the tavern in the town before (no food options nearby).
