Noisy and embarrassing crowds with no respect for other people and nature. Partying and drinking with loud music at night on the beach in a nature reserve, including campfires which is strictly forbidden. Absolute disaster.

A surf holiday with Ripstar is exactly what you want: fun, relaxed, and educational. My boyfriend and I went to Ripstar's 23+ surf camp in Oyambre last summer (2025). The location was truly stunning. The surf camp is located on a campsite near Playa de Oyambre in a green, wooded area. The beach is a bit of a walk from the campsite, but that's a nice warm-up. Because the camp is separate from the campsite, it feels like your own little spot in the woods. The crew ensures everything runs smoothly and you have a great experience during your stay. Whether you're catching your first waves or want to improve your existing skills, the instructors (Sem and Jitte) are happy to help. I also really appreciated that, in addition to the lessons, you can surf freely all day long. The kitchen crew provides delicious food at the end of the surf day, which is perfect after hours in the water. You bring your own plate and can sit down right away. There are also plenty of opportunities to explore the surrounding area besides surfing, such as a beautiful hike through the mountains or a trip to the city. It's truly a "group holiday," so the activities are mainly with the group. You can choose to explore more independently, but in that case, it's recommended to go by car or rent one. We really enjoyed surfing, the organized activities, and the delicious food and great atmosphere at the camp, so a car wasn't really necessary for us (a taxi is also possible, also with help from Ripstar). I look back on the holiday with great fondness!
