We did not stay or eat at the hotel but we want to express our gratefulness to reception for their understanding and help: my husband strained his knee on the way back from Hincovo Pleso in the snow and when I enquired about where to buy walking sticks (which they do not sell) they offered two roughly matching leftover ones which saved our hike. We left the sticks, as we agreed, at the cabin where the car comes up to the hotel. Many thanks!!

Positive: Very nice accommodation at Popradske Pleso with comfortable beds, a sauna and hot tub for an additional charge, plenty of space, and relaxing common areas. Quite good breakfast with nice options, coffee, juice etc. Beautiful landscapes inclusive. Negative: Despite inquiring by email several weeks before my stay and asking if there were vegan options for dinner, which was confirmed to me, there were none. There were two vegetarian main dishes, but since they mostly contained cheese, this wouldn't have been an option for me, but yes, I had to eat anything. I was only offered spaghetti with tomato sauce (without any vegetables) as a vegan option or salad. For a five-day stay, that's more than meager. Why are guests picked up by shuttle? I thought it was a nature reserve. Anyone who wants to come here should walk.

Just finished our cozy 2-day stay at the Popradské Pleso hotel. The location is absolutely breathtaking and serves as a perfect starting point for many incredible hiking routes. The rooms are decent and vary depending on your budget, level of comfort, and who you’re sharing with. However, the system of having only one key per room is inconvenient and can easily lead to unnecessary complications. Also, having only two power plugs for a room of 6 is a bit annoying, and paying for borrowing a power bank seems like a cash grab. The food in the restaurant was excellent. We especially appreciated the wide variety of breakfast options. Dinner was also very good, though it would be nice to see at least one more vegetarian dish on the menu. Overall, it’s a beautiful place to stay if you want to explore the High Tatras. With a few small improvements—especially around room access and dietary variety—it could easily become a top-tier mountain retreat.
