Lovely bothy to stay in! Surrounded by trees, has 2 sleeping slabs inside to squeeze 2 people on each. There's an outdoor little sink area with running water but they advise boiling before drinking! Also has a compostable toilet and a firepit. Beautiful walks all around including ones leading to Blackchurch Rock, a must see!

I stayed here for 3 nights in October 2023 with my Cocker Spaniel. If you have a sense of adventure and are prepared you will be fine. Brilliant walks on the nearby SW Coast Path. Clovelly is approx 1hrs walk. The car park is a short walk but is was able to drive down to unload the car, you need lighting and cooking equipment, no fridge but I managed for 3 nights by taking frozen food for the next day and pasta for 3rd night. So quiet during the night with stars by the bucketload. There is a fire pit but I did not use.

Spent a stormy night in February in this "piggery" with my dog Tina. Memories that will last me a lifetime. We were both soaked to the bone. I dried Tina off with a couple of towels, changed into dry clothes, cooked us some baked beans with sausages and zipped up in my sleeping bag to sleep more or less comfortably through the night. The beds are a hard in this place 😄 The dry toilet outside does the job, and offers wonderful views. Would have liked to make use of the fire pit and picnic bench outside but it was much too wet. Excellent walks in the area. Short walk down the path to Blackchurch rock and the cliffs. Will definitely visit again.
