I was very positively surprised. First and foremost, the seasonal hostel keeper/receptionist was exceptional - great language skills, friendly and ever helpful. The rooms and facilities were pristine clean and hostel well organized. The breakfast was very basic but sufficient. Bread was always fresh. The only missing piece was plain yogurt. There was only sweetened strawberry yogurt. The hostel location is also exception. You're very close to Meiringen center, 1 min from train station, outdoor swimming pool and climbing arena. Your perhaps 15 minutes by walk from the Reichenbach Falls. There's many interesting hikes in the vicinity and both enhances of the Aare gorge are within 15 minutes by public transportation. Brienz and its beauties are 15 minutes by car or similar time by train.
