Cruachan Hotel

ABSOLUTELY wonderful hotel, with awesome service from the staff who worked hard over the weekend. The Christmas dinner seemed to be well sought after as arrivals from non-guests started as early as 3.30PM, all through 8.30PM for the last seating. A tad pricey Christmas menu but it was ok given the festive holiday. Thing is that the food was not as great, nor was the plating. The only saving grace was the Cheesecake and the Cranachan (not shown here) which were fabulous. Oh… the mini mince pies that come with your hot drink at the end were good too! Unfortunately the coffee from that machine was not. 😓 the mah one really needs to be replaced. 👈🏼 Apart from the Christmas dinner which was a little anti-climax, the hotel itself from Starr to end was really good. Probably the nicest hotel in Fort William, it came with breakfast and that was a decent spread with good quality. The shower gels were absolutely refreshing and nice to use. Heaters were good and kept the rooms cosy. The bar was probably a favourite place of mine, with good service and the fireplace was so comfortable. Wifi in the bar was weak though, a pity as I went there to have coffee, whiskey as I worked on my laptop for a couple of hours as it got dark before dinner. Service all throughout was awesome. Staff were very friendly and approachable. Stop in Fort William? Crucial Hotel is a must stay by me. Have a good one 👋🏼

Stayed here for New Year, had a lovely time. Staff were lovely, great location, just a few minutes walk to the centre of Fort William. Only a twin room available, very comfortable beds.

The hotel is beautiful, and inside it also maintains that "castle" feel. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean. The only downside is that most of the options on the restaurant menu is Indian, which isn't a bad thing, but as someone who can't tolerate spicy food, I didn't have much choice, and even when I ordered chicken pasta, the chicken was spicy and I couldn't really enjoy it. But everything else was great, and the breakfast was delicious.
