Huilavagh B&B

We had the most amazing two nights here. Hughina is the nicest lady in the world. She is probably the busiest woman in the world but she always had time for us (we love a blether) very helpful and great for giving ideas. Her room is comfy and cosy and more importantly felt like coming home and thats all I ever want from a bed and breakfast. She promised me knitted socks which she never got round to but we will return and maybe have a few pairs knitted by then 🤣🤣.

We had a lovely stay with Hughina in Barra for our honeymoon. She was incredibly accommodating and was fantastic in terms of offering us plenty of recommendations for the island, as well as giving us stories of island life and her work there. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and the accommodation itself was spotless and large enough for all our stuff. The B&B is in a beautiful location, really close to both the airport and ferry to the Uists, as well as a stunning beach within walking distance (or short car trip if you're lazy like us). We would definitely stay with Hughina again, thanks a lot!

What a fantastic host Hughina was! Her knowledge of the island was superb and she was very friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was cosy with a lovely sitting area for spreading out in. Hughina even kindly washed my sea swimming clothes for me! It was a pleasure to meet her.
