Camping du Bois-Noir, St-Maurice, Valais, Suisse

A really enjoyable woodland campsite. We got a large pitch with plenty of shade, despite not having booked (mid August). Easy-going staff, a friendly bar/restaurant and a reasonable sized pool. Washing areas are clean and efficient, though I think 4 sinks for dishes/laundry is too few for the size of campsite, especially given the current tendency to go back to tents or small vans that don't have their own facilities.

We have a family camper at the permanent part of the camp site. Wonderful neighbors. Great view of the mountains. This year the buvette is closed due to management issues but hopefully they will reopen again. Last summer we had wonderful daily coffee and croissants there and occasional lunch and dinner which were really great value and quite delicious for a camp ground.

Quiet and lovely place. Friendly staff and great indoor space for playing with lots of books and games. Some outdoor activities as well.
