Just blissful. The location is perfect with lovely views. The accommodation is comfortable and the bedroom was spacious. The bathroom toiletries were excellent too. The highlight however was the continental breakfast and the overnight oats with fresh berries was fantastic. A friend who is very hard to please said it was the best breakfast he has eaten! The owners are friendly and helpful but not overly fussy. We will be back.

Very rude owner with anger issues. My car was stuck here (because the car parking sign showed me to go in that direction) and no one was around to help, so I checked the various buildings to see if I could find anyone. I managed to find some ramps inside the main guest house to help me shift the car. I was stuck in the middle of nowhere so didn't really have any other options. I came back and found a man cleaning the house who was lovely - polite, friendly and understanding. I thought that was that. I was just taking some photos of the surrounding area before heading off when I was accused of trespassing, by a very angry lady - in an area where many hikers were passing by the way. I was not once given the chance to respond and was threatened with the police. If I was in fact in the wrong, a simple polite comment to move me along would have sufficed, but she clearly wanted an argument with me. On the one hand, trying to vent at me, holding me in a conversation, and on the other hand telling me I needed to move immediately... Someone clearly with anger issues! Got me so riled up that I ended up swearing back at her, which I regret. I don't often get caught up in other people's drama but she was intent on doing so and I suppose she 'won'. Well done to her. I dread to think what the service would be like if you were a guest! In the moment where I needed help, I was made to feel unsafe and as if I were some sort of illegal alien. Not hospitable at all. Some basic humanity would be nice.

We have just returned from a lovely stay at Elterwater Park. We stayed in ‘The Byre’ with our two children who are 7 and 10. It was a perfect set up for us as a family and my partner and son loved their early morning walks and we loved exploring the lakes. The accommodation was clean and the quirky ‘Muddy Boots’ self serve cafe was a really fun touch that I can imagine is a great pit stop for walkers. Thank you for such a lovely stay. We hope to come back one day as the place is so beautiful and there is so much to explore!
