Porta Cervino

The hotel is amazing. Rooms are clean and well designed. Beds are comfortable. The breakfast was also surprisingly great. As other guests have stated, I also received a whatsapp message presenting themselves as this hotel (with my booking #, my name, dates of stay etc.) requesting my credit card information. I figured it was a scam and deleted the message, but it appears guest information is somehow being passed to scammers from this hotel, or the information is somehow being intercepted. The other issue was an alarm thar sounded at 3am inside the hotel. It appears a door can be opened that triggers an alarm. Overall the hotel was good value, had a great breakfast and transportation into Zermatt was easy on the train.

My international flights were cancelled due to major geopolitical events, making travel physically impossible. Despite providing documentation, the hotel refused any flexibility and shifted all responsibility to the guest. All other accommodations for the same trip were able to proceed with refunds under these exceptional circumstances. This property chose not to. Customer service was dismissive, unhelpful, and the staff’s tone throughout the exchange was extremely unpleasant. Very disappointing approach to hospitality in a situation clearly beyond a traveller’s control.

Excellent room with reasonable price in a relatively convenient location. + New hotel, new rooms + All fixtures and furnitures are top tier + Good service, polite staff + Good location: 5 min walk to Täsch train station, 15 min train to Zermatt + You can secure a room at reasonable price (probably because the hotel is new, ymmv) * We got a room upgrade to studio - 2 single beds/mattresses turned into a full bed. In my opinion, single beds are too narrow for one person to sleep comfortably. Full bed will have a center seam which can be bothersome.
