Decent stay but would say it’s a bit overpriced. Worth saying we came off season and were one of only two guests. When we arrived we were drenched and were relying on the advertised dry room to dry all of our stuff. When we got to the desk the woman told us that the dry room wasn’t in service and that we could have some newspaper for our boots which was nowhere near sufficient. She wasn’t very helpful. Eventually we called the number in our room and spoke to the owner, who was way more apologetic and came down to help us use their tumble dryer which was a total life saver! Rooms were decent, but considering the cost doesn’t include breakfast we felt like we overpaid.

I stayed at Tyndrum Lodges during the summer of 2025. My room appeared clean and neat but was too cold. I notified the main clerk lady (we think she was the owner). At first she seemed nice but then when we asked if we could have a small discount because we had spent the night shivering bc the heating did not work, she became angry. My wife also slipped in the bathtub and almost knocked herself out bc they didn't put down any friction padding on the tub floor. I would not recommend this place to others.

We stayed for 1 night in June. These turned out not to be ‘lodges’ in any sense we recognised, but large accommodation blocks with hotel style rooms. (AI answers the question “What is the difference between a hotel and a lodge?” with “A Lodge differs from a conventional hotel because it is usually more exclusive, with fewer rooms, and provides a more personalized and connected experience with nature”. None of that applies here.). However, it is set in rural surroundings. I had understood that there was a breakfast option. Indeed, on the property’s big sign on the main road, it offers ‘continental breakfast’. But, on asking about this on arrival, I was told that I had booked room only, so we could go to the village or a nearby burger van! This was about 5pm, not late at night. More about our non-welcome later. Still, the room was very large and spacious, with a huge amount of storage. Apart from making hot drinks, there is no cooking facility or fridge and no cutlery or place to eat a takeaway meal. However, it’s walking distance to the village’s shops and restaurants. The bed was huge and very comfortable, with adjacent power points. The black-out curtains were very effective. There were two chairs and a TV with extremely limited working channels – nothing that showed news, for example. The main channels all appeared on the programme guide, but said ‘no data’ or similar ‘not working’ messages when selected. The room heater was very effective. The bathroom was roomy, the toilet worked well, and the very hot water filled the bath quickly. The experience was let down by the curt, unwelcoming, unsmiling and unhelpful woman at the reception, verging on rude. No eye contact, no ‘welcome’, ‘hello’ or ‘enjoy your stay’. When I asked her where the accommodation was, she gestured vaguely and said ‘it’s the furthest one’ – when actually it was the nearest block and the first room within it! I get that people have bad days, but if you can’t do better than this you shouldn’t be in hospitality. It’s not what you want after a long drive. I’m taking a star off because of this.
