Trooperstown Wood Lodge

Firstly, the hostess, Erika, was just wonderful from the moment we arrived until we drove away. Our room was ready early and she anticipated our every need. From restaurant booking to lining up our rides for two excellent dinners at Heather House. Secondly, the place is spotless and so quiet. I thought we would miss air conditioning but we did not. For us, the coffee and biscuits were fine for the start of our day. Would recommend highly.

Wow, absolutely beautiful setting, the rooms are completely spotless, a stunning getaway but most of all, I would like to thank Erika, the host, a really lovely lady who couldn't have done enough and really made our stay wonderful. My partner is a wheelchair user and the room facilitated this perfectly.... the charming decor, cleanliness and welcoming environment is second to none

Ideal base for exploring the lovely Glendalough area. Erika is probably the most amazing host, so attentive and welcoming. It is a home away from home. No breakfast is served here but there is an arrangement with the Wicklow Heather restaurant (also excellent) in nearby Laragh (about 15 minutes walk, or a shuttle is provided). Rooms are spotless, decorated with great care and attention to detail, even a fridge in the room which is great in summer. A lovely tv / reading room with a good coffee machine and biscuits is also available for guests' use. Thanks Erika, I'll be returning (and I'll remember to book direct)!
