Gallen-Treath Guest House

Amazing experience! Nestled in a charming small village of Porthallow, Clive and Alicia (owners) are very hospitable and friendly and make you feel right at home. The rooms are spacious and very clean with all modern amenities. View is top notch, we could see the sea from our room! The best part is the breakfast, it's scrumptious, made fresh by the hosts and you get vegetarian options as well. There is driveway parking but it's safe as the property is on a hill. Getting there can be a little tricky due to all the hills and narrow roads but following the instructions provided post booking makes it easier plus the calm ambience and the closeness to beach makes this totally worthwhile. Definitely a recommended place to stay in while visiting Cornwall's various treats!

Just completed my second stay with Clive and Alicia and will definitely be back. They (the hosts) couldn’t be more accommodating and the breakfast is superb, each guest getting personal touches to their taste and preference. Location is perfect for diving. This is a trip I look forward to when it’s in my calendar.

Amazing b&b. Great place to stay in a beautiful location at a very reasonable price. I had a large single room with stunning views over the bay. There is also a lounge for guests with a large balcony and equally stunning views. Clive and Alicia are great hosts and very welcoming and chatty and were fine with my request to turn off the radio during breakfast (not sure why so many b&b's insist on having it on in the first place). The breakfast was very comprehensive and delicious. The only slight issue was that I received an automated email from them as my booking approached which asked several questions and which I replied to as I had a question myself about possible late check in as I didn't know how long it would take to get there, but it never got replied to. This was a bit of a shame as it would have given more flexibility in planning my journey. Other than that I was delighted with my stay and would highly recommend.
