Great place for Sunday lunch - two dinners and coffees came to a good value £35. Good vegetarian options too and gluten free clearly marked on menu. Roast dinners were delicious - both the beef and the mushroom cranberry and Brie wellington, and quantities plentiful. Friendly service, open fire and darts board too.

The Buck is only 5 minutes walk from home. It's had a chequered career since the golden age some 15 years ago with groups such as the Animals performing there and quirky quiz nights. Foolish subsequent owners declared "visitors preferred policy" so locals boycott and COVID soon saw them off. The latest owners have tried had to restore it to it's former glory. My wife wanted to see the Leeds Man City match so we went Saturday evening. The beer was excellent real Ale, fresh and bright, and the whole atmosphere relaxed and friendly with a mix of incomer you family, and farmers whose family history go back 450+ years. We didn't spot any visitors but they are made welcome. Simple pub food was also available and tables cannot be reserved When we left it was quite full with a low key buzz. Outside seating is available overlooking the village green and a large beer garden to the rear for warmer months. If you want a down to earth no nonsense place it's for you as there are other places to lure away the hooray Henerys

Fantastic bar with amazing beers, really well kept and a great choice, the pennine brewery Heartland was particularly good and the service from Rhi was second to none. Cask club Sunday at 3.50 a pint was the icing on the cake. Pub darts pool tables and plenty of seating.. can't recommend enough. Come to The Buck you won't regret it!!!!
