Hotel Plazza Porcari

Note: my review describes my communication experience because I didn't have a chance to stay here. I booked one night at the Hotel Plazza on Booking. Unfortunately, I messed up the dates, and instead of booking it for the next day, I booked it around 10 days in advance. Since I intended to stay the next day, I chose the non-refundable option and realized my mistake right after the booking. I checked if moving the reservation was possible, but it wasn't. I quickly contacted the property, admitted my mistake, requested a cancellation and a refund, and proposed to pay a fee for their troubles. They refused and didn't propose any other options. Did they have the right to do that? Absolutely. But overall, I expected some empathy and common sense here. The property could have gotten respect, gratitude, extra money (the fee I would've paid), and the room they could have rented out again (they had around 10 days), but they preferred to take advantage of the situation.

Quite cheap to book a room, but the service is great and we also received free breakfast which was very good. If I ever come back to visit Pisa, I will definitely book here again.

With a nice italien accent the lady at the reception greeted us very friendly and check-in was no problem. The rooms are big enough and clean. It is a simple but nice Hotel and you can reach down-town Lucca within 20 min. The A/C worked OK but in the morning we had to call the reception because the hot water was not working. This was taken care of within three minutes so all good and the gentleman at the front desk was also very helpful with re-arranging our booking. Breakfast is nothing fancy but did not expect anything different:). all in all we had a good stay.
