I'm in two minds of whether to give this 3 or 4 stars. It could easily be 5 stars with a little bit spent on the right things since the villa and garden are lovely. The bad points: - the mattresses and pillows are not very comfortable (though this seems usual for Spanish villas at this price) - the latch on the terrace door is annoyingly fitted back to front (so it'll open with a gust of wind but won't close unless you push the handle down) - there's a rooster roaming around the neighborhood cock-a-doodle-dooing from 4 am but we soon got used to it and it didn't bother our sleep - the worst bit however is there is a smell of drains coming from the bathroom that is intense at times. It can be managed by opening the window and leaving the door shut but didn't want to do this at night or when we went out. I'm told that it's common practice for Spanish plumbers to fit toilets by heating up the soil pipe and pushing the toilet on, resulting in a water tight seal that isn't gas tight. It stinks in there whenever we need to leave the window shut. Why don't they spend the extra fiver on a pan adapter! They could even resolve it by silicone all around the toilet where it meets the floor to make that bit gas tight. It might be a faulty air admittance valve, they only cost 20 - come on sort it out!
