Clachan Garden B&B

We stayed at many different Inns and B&B’s while in Scotland and this was absolutely one of our favorites! We stayed here for a night on our way from Aviemore to Ullapool. The location is great for nice hikes and easy access to town and the ferries. The Inn is warm, welcoming and beautifully eclectic. The library alone bowled me over. The breakfast room is gorgeous- bright and sunny and rivaled only by the wonderful food they served. From the artisan granola bar, porridge, and amazing tea selection to the traditional Scottish breakfast. Even the silverware, plates and serving pieces were beautiful. And as if that wasn’t enough, in addition to being outstanding cooks (try to book dinner there if you can), Stephen and Margaret are incredibly lovely hosts that take the time to make suggestions, answer any questions and go the extra step to make your visit special. Our only regret was that we didn’t have more time to stay there. Karen and David from Colorado!

Such an amazing place run by wonderful hosts with much respect for tremendous attention to detail. The house and rooms a beautifully furnished and well equipped with all necessities. The hallways and dining room are adorned with striking flowers, no doubt from the garden. There is a lovely TV lounge with reclining seats. We had a delicious breakfast and very tasty evening meal of Indian food, all home made and delicious. In the morning, while having breakfast birds are visiting the garden and feeding at the same time, which is a lovely site and Stephen who is also a qualified barista, made us a lovely coffee in the morning from a full size profession espresso machine, quite impressive to see. It’s hard to put this all into words but you really have to visit to understand what I mean and I rarely give such accolades.

Truly fabulous! Everything about this establishment is first class — from the stunning location and high standard of accommodation to the spotless cleanliness, delicious food, and, of course, the wonderful hosts. I can't recommend Glachan Garden highly enough. Thank you Stephen & Margaret for a truly memorable stay. — Paul (on the bike that has to be red 😊)
