Pension Torfhaus Holzhau

This isn't what I'd call a cozy stop. The hosts are nice, friendly, and helpful. But that's about it. I don't have many demands, but I do expect a minimum level of cleanliness in the restaurant and hygiene from the hosts when I spend my money somewhere. We've been here three times over the past few years, and this was the last time. We were downright disgusted eating and drinking there. How someone lives privately is their own business, but when I'm entertaining other people, I can wash my hair and wear clean, unperforated clothes. It's a real shame about this beautiful spot on earth. So we'll never be back.

Simply kind and loving, or simply and loving and "just like old times." We stopped here on a hike and were very happy to have a warm meal, a reasonably priced beer, and a coffee. A very relaxed atmosphere and plenty to look around and reminisce about. Finally, everything isn't so perfect, but rather simple, authentic, and good. Thank you & all the best!

Even from the outside, it's not very inviting. You feel like you're in a large auto repair shop, right in the middle of this beautiful natural setting. Unfortunately, entering the restaurant didn't make me want to eat there either. However, the beer was deliciously chilled, and the service was friendly for this area.
